Abstract : This paper introduces a methodology for watermarking 3D shapes by using local shape moments. The proposed methodology modifies locations of 3D vertices in order to embed information corresponding to a given code. Two different watermarking techniques, using sandwiching planes and bounding ellipsoids, are used for embedding information in 3D shapes. Both algorithms use the first and second order statistic modelling local neighborhoods. The paper provides a statistical analysis of distortions caused in shapes by small perturbations applied to their vertices. Experimental results are provided for a few graphical objects and 3D models under various attacks.
