Abstract : ISAR imaging is described for general motion of the radar target. ISAR imaging may be seen as a 3D to 2D projection, and the imporatnce of the ISAR image projection plane is stated. For general motion ISAR images are often smeared. Time frequency methods are used to analyze such images, and to form sharp images. A given smeared image is shown to be the result of changes in the projection plane.
