Greetings from the Organization Committee Chair

On behalf of the Organization Committee and its representatives, I would like to welcome you to EUFIT '99, the 7th European Congress on Intelligent Techniques and Soft Computing taking place in Aachen, Germany.

The EUFIT Conference (September 14-16, 1999) is composed of plenary, semi-plenary, ordinary and flexible sessions, and panel discussions. There are 54 technical and application-oriented sessions, each of them with presentations by leading scientists and practitioners.

As during the last conferences, the chairpersons of the ERUDIT committees have again organized some interesting meetings and workshops related to the respective areas. They are free of charge and open for the public.

I also invite you to visit the exhibition of products for industrial and educational purposes from September 13 - 15, 1999. To give you a survey of what is demonstrated in the exhibition, you can also use this issue as an exhibition guide that contains a detailed description of the exhibits.

I want to thank you for supporting the organization of EUFIT '99 by your contributions and participation, Professor Zimmermann as the General Chairman, Professor Zadeh as the Honorary Chairman, the Organizers of the Invited Sessions, the Chairmen of the sessions, the participants and speakers, and the whole staff of the Organization Committee.
