Abstract

A novel wideband beamformer is proposed with robustness against array response errors. The proposed beamformer differs from earlier techniques in that its robustness is directly related to the uncertainties in the array manifold while avoiding the suboptimal subband decomposition approach. The wideband robust beamforming problem is formulated as a second-order cone programming convex optimization problem which can be solved efficiently in polynomial time using interior point methods. Simulation results show an improved performance of the proposed beamformer compared to earlier wideband robust beamforming techniques.
