Foreword

On behalf of the organizing committee, we are pleased to welcome you to the 2nd International conference on Systems and Control.
The 2d edition of the ICSC is organized in the memory of late El-Kébir BOUKAS who initiated this conference. The first edition was held in Marrakech in 2007 and marked a new scientific event in the region. The Second Conference on Systems and Control (ICSC'12), is held for the second time in Marrakech, the red city, the enchantress, is above all an imperial city. Located in a plain gained on the desert and leaned with the majestic snow-covered mountains at the High Atlas, this large oasis is today an economic pole and one of the Moroccan tourist destinations, thanks to its history and to its adapted hotel infrastructure. Between tradition and modernity, between the Medina of another age and European Neighborhoods, this city has what to disconcert the tourist through time. Make sure to visit the famous Djemma el Fna, the heart of Marrakech. This large central square in the old city (Medina) transforms from a shopping heaven into an entertainment paradise in the afternoon -the square really comes alive. The souks of Marrakech are considered to be among the best in Morocco. The scope of the conference covers fundamental research and applications in process control. The technical program includes 2 plenary sessions and 70 contributed papers out of 85 papers that were selected from 120 submitted papers (15 papers were withdrawn from the program). We expect more than 100 participants to attend the conference. We would like to thank all the authors and the attendees of ICSC'12 because the success of the conference will mainly belong to them. Finally, we would like to wish you a successful ICSC'12. Enjoy your conference; enjoy your stay in Marrakech. We would like to thank all the persons who have helped us to set up this conference.
